Giuseppe Marasco: This is the second edition of Time To Watches. How important is an event like that for the community and for independent brands?

Christian Wipfli: I think an event like this is important for al the market especially because the market now must be more open to the public. During the last edition only the last day was open but this year all the 5 days are open to the public.

Giuseppe Marasco: How many people joined the first edition?

Christian Wipfli: 5.500 people but for this year we expect more people as there is more possibility also to travel.

Giuseppe Marasco: I also saw the list of the brands from the first edition and the list of the 2023 edition. There are a lot of new brands that will join the event this year. It seems to me there are many compared for the first edition!

Christian Wipfli: Yes! For the first edition a lot of brands were not sure they could participate because of Covid but this year the situation is very different. Also different brands from the 2022 edition are now in Watches and Wonders and we are very happy to be one of the solutions to participate during the Geneva watch week (meet media, new dealers, etc.)

Giuseppe Marasco: There is also the possibility to buy watches directly to the event from this edition right?

Christian Wipfli: On April 1st, Time To Watches will welcome the general public, press, collectors and watch enthusiasts to experience watchmaking like never before. In a festive atmosphere with live music and DJ sets, the visitor will have access to all the participating watch brands and test, admire and even buy some of their finest timepieces. Throughout the day, visitors will be treated to an Estelle Lagarde performance, the famous gouache artist and designer who gets her inspiration from watch and jewelry creations, as she will host an art show in the morning inviting each one to actively participate. In the afternoon, the artist will then create a unique live artwork to be auctioned off to a charity association.

Giuseppe Marasco: Are there any special requirments to let brands partecipate to Time of Watches?

Christian Wipfli: the most important thing is the idea behind the brand, mostly are mecanichal but, creativity and design are very important, even if we are talking about quartz watches.

Giuseppe Marasco: how do you see Time To Watches in the future?

Christian Wipfli: is not easy because the market is changing a lot but our event is listening to the market understanding his changes. Of course we want to grow every year, making people more courious about what horology really is!
