Introduced in March 2022, RIPPLES brought a new style to SPEAKE MARIN as the brand’s first sports watch all in steel. In a 40.30 mm case, both rounded and square, sporty and chic, RIPPLES Black Original was worn on an integrated three-link bracelet, tapered with surfaces polished and brushed.
Precious in its second version of steel and yellow gold that celebrated the brand’s 20th Anniversary, the RIPPLES family offers eye-catching versatility and a dial that intrigues, with its sun- catching undulating “rippled” effect.
Calibre SMA03-T
The three-dimensional horizontal waves that span the dial are now presented in a tone of soothing blue. Here, there is ethereal beauty, a yearning to project into the future, into the beyond, a yearning to breathe. Heart/spade shaped “Big Ben” rhodium-plated hands takeyou forward with the automatic passing of every minute and hour.
And to remind us that freedom can only be exhilarating when contrasted with daily constraints, the small seconds at 1:30 are encircled in a darker shade to bring us down to earth.
Within the stainless steel “La City” case beats Calibre SMA03-T at 28,800 v.p.h. Visible through the sapphire crystal on the back, the fully integrated micro-rotor keeps the total thickness of RIPPLES Blue Jeans to a slim 9.20mm.
The mechanical self-winding movement also boasts hand-finished bridges, hand-bevelled angles, rhodium plating and Geneva stripes. With functions of central hours and minutes, and small seconds at 1:30, it has a power reserve of 52 hours.
